Delete your data

Under the GDPR, you have the right to request erasure of your personal data. This page explains exactly what happens when you do โ€” and gives you a simple way to make the request.

How data deletion works

We've made the process as straightforward as possible. Here's what to expect.

Submit your request

Fill in the form below with the email address associated with your BrandForge account. We need this to locate your data.

We verify your identity

Within 48 hours, we'll send a verification email to confirm you are the account holder. This prevents unauthorised deletion requests.

Data is permanently deleted

Once verified, your data is deleted within 30 days. We'll email you a confirmation when the process is complete.

What happens to your data

  • All brand assets โ€” logos, palettes, typography, guidelines
  • AI-generated websites and page content
  • Social media templates and scheduled posts
  • Business cards, stationery, and print files
  • eCommerce store data and product listings
  • AI Copilot conversation history
  • Uploaded images and files
  • Domain connection settings (domains themselves are yours)
  • Usage analytics linked to your account

Retained (legal requirement)

Dutch and EU law require us to retain certain records. This data is kept in a restricted archive and is not used for any other purpose.

  • Billing records and invoices 7 years โ€” Dutch fiscal retention (AWR)
  • Tax-related transaction data 7 years โ€” Dutch tax law
  • Record of your deletion request 3 years โ€” GDPR accountability
  • Anti-fraud and abuse logs 12 months โ€” legitimate interest

About anonymised data

Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics (e.g. "how many brands were generated in a given month") that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely. This data contains no personal information and cannot identify you.

Before you request deletion

This action is permanent

Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Make sure you've exported any brand assets, websites, or files you want to keep before submitting your request.

Active subscriptions will be cancelled

If you have an active paid subscription, it will be cancelled as part of the deletion process. No further charges will be made. Refunds are handled per our Terms & Conditions.

Published websites will go offline

Any websites published through BrandForge will be taken down when your account is deleted. If you've connected a custom domain, the DNS records will need to be updated separately.

Domains remain yours

Domain names registered through BrandForge are owned by you and managed by the underlying registrar. Deleting your BrandForge account does not affect your domain ownership or registration.

Partner / white-label accounts

If you access BrandForge through a partner's branded platform, please contact your provider first. They manage your account and may have their own data deletion process.

Common questions

How long does the deletion process take?
After you verify your identity via email, your data is deleted within 30 days. You'll receive a confirmation email when the process is complete. The 30-day window allows us to ensure all systems and backups are properly purged.
Can I recover my data after deletion?
No. Once the deletion process is complete, your data cannot be recovered. We strongly recommend exporting any brand assets, website content, or files you want to keep before submitting your request.
What if I only want to delete some of my data?
You can delete individual brands, websites, or assets from within your BrandForge account settings without deleting your entire account. This page is for full account and data deletion. For partial data requests, email privacy@brandforge.com.
I accessed BrandForge through a partner's platform. What do I do?
If you use BrandForge through a white-label partner (e.g. your hosting provider), contact them first. They are the data controller for your account and have their own deletion process. If they are unable to help, contact us directly.
Why do you keep billing records for 7 years?
Dutch tax law (Algemene wet inzake rijksbelastingen) requires businesses to retain financial records for a minimum of 7 years. This is a legal obligation we cannot override. These records are stored in a restricted archive and not used for any other purpose.
What happens to my domain name?
Domain names registered through BrandForge are owned by you and managed by the underlying registrar. Deleting your BrandForge account does not delete or transfer your domain. You'll need to manage it directly with the registrar.
Can I create a new account after deletion?
Yes, you can create a new BrandForge account at any time after deletion. However, none of your previous data, brand assets, or account history will be available โ€” you'll start completely fresh.

This page implements your right to erasure under Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
